Atlas Copco Group has inaugurated a manufacturing facility in Talegaon, Pune, spanning approximately 270,000 sq. ft. The plant is designed to produce air and gas compressors, including compressed natural gas (CNG), biogas, and hydrogen compressors, as well as air dryers, nitrogen and oxygen generators, and medical filters.

The facility incorporates Industry 4.0 technologies and sustainability measures. Around 80% of its energy requirements will be met through a 1.3 MW rooftop solar system and grid supply. The site also features rainwater harvesting and advanced cooling systems.

Atlas Copco has equipped the plant with multiple testing capabilities to support research and development. It is certified under ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001 standards for quality, safety, environmental management, and energy efficiency.

Philippe Ernens, President of Compressor Technique Business Area at Atlas Copco, stated that the facility will help reduce lead times and increase production capacity. Thierry Monart, Vice President – Managing Director of Atlas Copco (India) Pvt Ltd., noted that the plant is expected to contribute to job creation and skill development in the region.
