GMMCO India, a CK Birla company, has inaugurated two service and supply hubs in Butibori and Hingna, Nagpur. The facilities, covering a combined 14 acres, will provide machine rebuild, component repair, and parts distribution services across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, and Goa.
The Butibori facility spans 10 acres and includes a 140,000 sq. ft. Machine Rebuild Center (MRC) and a high-capacity warehouse. The warehouse manages over 30,000 line items and processes approximately 45,000 transactions per month. It also features a digitalized warehouse management system designed to facilitate 24–48 hour parts delivery. The site has the capacity to store 100 machines and handle the rebuild or repair of 150 machines and 750 hydraulic cylinders annually. Additionally, it has the capability to produce 24,000 hydraulic hose assemblies per year.
The Hingna facility, covering four acres with a 74,000 sq. ft. Component Rebuild Center (CRC), is equipped to rebuild or overhaul 750 engines and 400 transmissions annually. It houses a NABL-accredited SOS lab capable of testing 210,000 used oil samples per year for condition monitoring and preventive maintenance.
Chandrasekhar V, Managing Director of GMMCO India, stated that the expansion aims to improve service efficiency and reduce machine downtime for customers. The company has also enhanced its rebuild and repair capabilities to support infrastructure development across multiple industries, including mining, construction, energy, and transportation.
The new hubs employ more than 250 personnel and integrate service, parts, and rebuild operations to improve response times and extend equipment life cycles. GMMCO is part of the CK Birla Group and has been a partner of Caterpillar for over three decades, providing equipment and services to industrial sectors in India.
