The Indian Navy has inducted LSAM 23 (Yard 133), the ninth Ammunition Cum Torpedo Cum Missile (ACTCM) Barge, in a ceremony held on March 12, 2025, at Naval Dockyard, Mumbai. The event was attended by Commodore Manish Vig, General Manager (Quality Assurance), Naval Dockyard Mumbai.
The ACTCM Barge is part of an eleven-barge contract awarded to Suryadipta Projects Pvt. Ltd., a Thane-based MSME shipyard, on March 5, 2021. Eight barges have already been delivered, and the shipyard has also secured a contract to build four sullage barges for the Indian Navy.
Designed in collaboration with an Indian ship design firm, the barges underwent model testing at the Naval Science and Technological Laboratory in Visakhapatnam. They are built in compliance with the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) standards.
The induction of these barges is expected to support the Indian Navy’s logistical operations by facilitating the transportation, embarkation, and disembarkation of ammunition and other materials both at jetties and outer harbours.
