3B Goa Glass Fibre has commissioned a new furnace at its facility in Colvale, Goa, as part of an ongoing expansion initiative. The investment aims to scale up production capacity at the site, which has been operational since 1996.
3B Goa is affiliated with 3B-the fibreglass company, headquartered in Battice, Belgium, and both companies are part of the Indian-owned Praana Group. 3B manufactures glass fibre products used in the automotive, wind energy, construction, and composite materials industries. In addition to its facility in Goa, 3B operates production sites in Belgium and Norway.
The expansion follows the Praana Group’s acquisition in February 2025 of Owens Corning’s glass fiber reinforcements business in Belgium. The acquisition includes facilities in Brussels, Tessenderlo, and Zele, employing approximately 490 people and manufacturing cellular glass insulation and technical fabrics for industrial use.
Company representatives present at the inauguration included Vishal Goenka, Vice-Chairman of Praana Group; Vishal Shah, Head of Mergers and Acquisitions; and PVVS Rao, President of Operations at 3B Goa. CEO Ludovic Piraux and executives from 3B Belgium were also in attendance.
