As part of the Belgium Economic Mission to India, a delegation led by Princess Astrid of Belgium visited John Cockerill’s Taloja facility, which specializes in rolling mills, steel processing lines, and industrial furnaces. The visit highlighted ongoing collaborations between Belgian and Indian industries in the steel sector.
During the visit, John Cockerill representatives provided an overview of the company’s steel technologies and expertise developed in both Belgium and India since the 19th century. The company also participated in two industry seminars focusing on energy transition and industrial decarbonization.
The Wallonia Export & Investment Agency (AWEX) hosted a discussion on the green steel industry, featuring speakers including Vivek Bhide, Francois-David Martino, and Francois Michel. Additionally, the Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT) seminar addressed industrial decarbonization and global hydrogen supply chains, with input from Raphael Tilot.
The official delegation, which included Minister Maxime Prévot, toured the Taloja facility, where John Cockerill representatives presented ongoing technological developments and collaborations between Belgian and Indian teams.
