Bekaert has inaugurated its India Concrete Expertise Centre at its plant in Lonand. The facility is designed for research and development in fibre-reinforced concrete applications, particularly testing the use of steel fibers in spray concrete.
The inauguration took place in New Delhi as part of the Belgian Economic Mission to India. The official opening at the Lonand facility is scheduled for 5 March, with local officials in attendance.
Bekaert states that the expertise center is equipped with advanced technology aimed at supporting the construction industry. Eric Peeters, Divisional CEO Sustainable Construction, said the new facility represents a milestone for the company’s innovation efforts in the sector.
