South Korean company Boditech Med Inc. has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility at MET City in Jhajjar, Haryana. The plant was established by its Indian subsidiary, Boditech Med India Pvt. Ltd., as part of the company’s expansion into the Indian market.
The facility was inaugurated on April 4, 2025, in the presence of Lee Seong-Ho, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to India, and Eui Yul Choi, Chairman and CEO of Boditech Med Inc. The move is aimed at enhancing the company’s production capabilities in India for its Point-of-Care (POC) diagnostic products.
According to a press release issued by Model Economic Township Limited (METL), which operates MET City, Boditech Med’s facility is one of over 580 industrial units now present in the township. MET City, a 100% subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited, currently hosts companies from ten countries, including six from South Korea.
While investment figures and production capacity details were not disclosed, METL stated that the facility would contribute to local employment and expand the region’s role in the medical devices sector. The site is part of MET City’s broader industrial development project, which covers over 8,000 acres and includes infrastructure such as power supply, water treatment, and transport networks.
Eui Yul Choi said, “India represents both a crucial market and an emerging global manufacturing hub for medical devices. The country’s supportive policy framework and growing healthcare infrastructure make it an ideal location for our expansion as we strengthen our commitment to the Indian market.”
MET City reports that it currently provides direct employment to over 40,000 people across 77 operational companies, with more than 200 additional facilities under construction.
