Combitech has inaugurated a new office and engineering competence centre in Hyderabad, India, to support its collaboration with Saab, the Swedish defence and security company. The centre will focus on delivering engineering and technology services across multiple domains, including software development, mechanical design and stress analysis, electronics design, IT consulting, and manufacturing support.

The Hyderabad facility will operate as a competence centre for both Saab and Combitech Sweden. The two companies work together to deliver specialised services, with Combitech supporting Saab’s operations through integrated engineering functions. From the new centre in India, Combitech will contribute to Saab’s development projects by providing technical expertise across the product lifecycle.

Jessica Öberg, CEO of Combitech, stated, “The inauguration is not just a celebration of a physical space – it is also a celebration of our shared vision. The office represents the continuous development of Combitech, where we create space for innovation and opportunities for growth and success.”

The company stated that the centre is intended to strengthen collaboration between teams in India and the Nordics. The engineering teams in Hyderabad are expected to take on responsibilities from concept to completion, ensuring close coordination with Saab’s programmes.

Antony Selvaraj, Managing Director of Combitech India, said, “I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all our employees for their unwavering support and dedication. Together, we will continue working towards a smarter and more resilient society, leveraging the expertise of our teams in India and the Nordics.”

The inauguration ceremony on April 3 included guests from across the industry and academia, including representatives from the Embassy of Sweden, Ericsson, Volvo, Tech Mahindra, Epiroc, IIT Delhi, and IIT Hyderabad. The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a tour of the premises, and a series of speeches.
