Sterling Tools Limited, through its subsidiary Sterling Gtake E-Mobility Limited (SGEM), has signed technology licence and supply agreements with China’s Landworld Technology Co. Ltd. to manufacture on-board chargers, DC/DC converters and multifunction units in India. Production will take place at SGEM’s electric vehicle (EV) campus in Faridabad. The partnership is projected to generate around INR 4.5 billion in revenue by FY30, in a market segment estimated to reach INR 30 billion.

According to the company, the partnership will expand SGEM’s product range beyond motor control units and powertrain platforms. “We are expanding beyond our initial Motor Control Unit & Power Train platforms to meet our customer’s growing demand for advanced technology in the EV sector. EV sub-systems are being increasingly consolidated into multifunction units and Sterling hopes to offer our customers greater choices for stand-alone and multifunction units to cover multiple (vehicle) functions,” said Anil Aggarwal, Chairman of Sterling Tools Limited.

The new products include on-board chargers, which enable vehicles to connect to AC power sources to charge battery packs, and DC/DC converters, which reduce battery pack voltage to levels usable by auxiliary systems. “India’s EV market offer’s immense potential for growth and innovation. Through our partnership with Sterling Gtake, we are bringing our proven expertise in On-Board Chargers and DC/DC converters to Indian customers across several EV vehicle categories,” said Lin Chen, Vice General Manager of Landworld Technology.
