A roundtable organized by the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM), in partnership with the U.S.-India Business Council (USIBC), brought together defence industry representatives from India and the United States to discuss manufacturing-focused cooperation. The event featured participation from Andrew Byers, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for South and Southeast Asia, and Doug Beck, Director of the U.S. Defense Innovation Unit (DIU).

The discussions centered on implementation strategies for the India-U.S. Roadmap for Defense Industrial Cooperation (RDP) and the COMPACT agreement. Participants examined specific actions to accelerate co-development and co-production efforts between companies in both countries and explored the potential for establishing India as a regional hub for Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services.

Neeraj Gupta, Chairman of SIDM’s International and Exports Committee, moderated the session, which aimed at identifying concrete steps to support bilateral manufacturing initiatives in the defence sector.
