Hodek Vibration Technologies Pvt Ltd has inaugurated its third manufacturing unit in Dharwad, Karnataka, expanding its production capacity and reinforcing its growth plans. The new plant is equipped with automation-ready infrastructure and is built to Industry 4.0 standards, aimed at supporting future manufacturing needs.
With this development, Hodek now operates three production facilities—one in Pune and two in Dharwad—alongside a foundry and a research and development center. The company expects the new plant to support its revenue growth target from INR 3 billion to INR 10 billion over the next four to five years.
In addition to increasing production capacity, the company is diversifying its product range in response to shifts in the automotive sector, particularly the transition to electric and hydrogen-based vehicles. While traditional torsional vibration dampers (TVDs) are not used in electric vehicles, the company is developing new components for both electric and combustion-engine vehicles.
Hodek also has plans to broaden its revenue base internationally. It currently exports to 18 countries across five continents, with North America and the UK being major markets. Export sales account for around 30 percent of total revenue, and the company aims to increase this to 50 percent within two to three years.
The company is exploring new business areas, including digital products and accessories for electric vehicles. It has developed a sun visor under a new entity, Hodek Innovations, and has launched a rental app called Ispick through its digital venture, Hodek Edge.
According to the company, the Dharwad hub has the potential to create job opportunities for up to 500 people. The Dharwad plant has adopted eco-friendly measures and holds ISO 14001 Environmental Management Certification. Hodek has also installed a 155 kWp rooftop solar power plant at its Pune facility. Looking ahead, the company intends to go public in the next three to five years.
Founded in 1976 in Pune, Hodek Vibration Technologies began by supplying components to Cummins India and later partnered with Holset UK to manufacture TVDs. The company serves clients in the automotive, railways, marine, military, industrial, and power generation sectors.
