BEML Limited has received a contract valued at USD 1 million from Malaysia for the retrofit and reconditioning of its Mass Rapid Transport (MRT) System. The contract was awarded on 9 August 2025 and marks BEML’s first international order in the Rail and Metro segment.

The project involves upgrading Malaysia’s MRT infrastructure to improve operational efficiency and extend the system’s lifespan. This contract represents BEML’s initial entry into the global rail services market.

BEML operates across Defence & Aerospace, Mining & Construction, and Rail & Metro sectors. It has manufacturing facilities in Bengaluru, Kolar Gold Fields, Mysore, and Palakkad, supported by research and development and a sales network.

The company’s move into international rail contracts aims to increase its global footprint and develop further export opportunities, particularly in Southeast Asia.
