Kinetic Engineering Ltd has inaugurated a robotic chassis line at its Ahilya Nagar facility in Maharashtra to support the production of the Kinetic DX electric scooter. The line includes robotic welding, clamping auto fixtures, and a dedicated cell for scooter framing.
The facility has also been upgraded with hydraulic and mechanical presses, spot welding guns, pneumatic clamping fixtures for metal body panels, and a modernised paint shop. The paint line introduces a 7-tank process with cathodic electro-deposition (CED) coating followed by metallic top coating. The plant now also features a digitised store for child parts, which uses individual gauges for each part and kit-based supply to streamline sub-assembly operations.
“The future of manufacturing belongs to companies that can seamlessly integrate automation, precision, and sustainability into their processes. With the inauguration of our Robotic Chassis Line, we are not just upgrading a facility, we are reimagining how manufacturing should be done in India,” said Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Kinetic Engineering Ltd.
The key highlights of the new setup include robotic welding for precision, clamping auto fixtures for improved chassis assembly, upgraded systems for body panel fabrication, enhanced corrosion resistance through the new paint process, and digitised inventory management.
