Tokyo Electron has established a new development site in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. The facility will focus on software development related to equipment design and simulation, while also serving as a base for joint research on next-generation semiconductor technologies with universities and academic institutions in India.

The company stated that the new site will also support efforts to recruit specialised talent and strengthen networks required for technological development.

According to Tokyo Electron, the semiconductor market is projected to reach around 1 trillion USD by 2030, with further technological innovation and growth expected beyond that point.

The company is also setting up offices to support Tata Electronics’ semiconductor fab in Dholera, Gujarat, and the assembly/test plant in Assam. These offices will house 200–300 engineers, training centers, and warehouses for equipment parts, focusing initially on R&D in software, AI, and robotics, with future prospects for local manufacturing.

Tokyo Electron, headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, and led by President Toshiki Kawai, develops and manufactures semiconductor production equipment and flat panel display production equipment. The company operates globally, providing tools and services for semiconductor device fabrication.
