Atam Valves Limited, a manufacturer of industrial and plumbing valves and fittings, has cleared the first Audit Stage (Q1) of the American Petroleum Institute (API) certification process and moved into the final procedural phase expected to conclude in the coming weeks. The company said the advancement positions it to participate in oil and gas, petrochemical and other high-pressure industry segments that require API-compliant products.
According to a press release issued by Atam Valves Limited, the company is working to close a small number of procedural observations raised during the Q1 audit and anticipates completing the remaining steps within six to eight weeks, with formal certification expected by February 2026.
“Commercially, API certification will unlock tangible revenue streams as we onboard qualified customers and projects,” said Amit Jain, Managing Director of Atam Valves. He added that the audit recommendation followed a two-year internal upgrade of systems and processes.
The company is also preparing to expand its production range to manufacture valves up to 72 inches in diameter, significantly larger than its current 12-inch capability. Atam is evaluating new machinery suitable for high-pressure and complex applications used in oil and gas, petrochemicals and large infrastructure projects. The company expects capacity ramp-up and product trials to translate into orders by the end of fiscal 2027.
The company’s operational profile includes a workforce of 500 employees and three specialised foundry shops. Its product range is designed to withstand pressures up to 10,000 psi and temperatures between minus 192 degrees Celsius and 550 degrees Celsius.
Atam Valves Limited, incorporated in 1985, manufactures gate, globe and ball valves for customers in oil and gas, chemicals, HVAC and related sectors. The company’s registered office and manufacturing location are in Jalandhar, Punjab.
