Friulair, a provider of air treatment solutions, has commenced manufacturing operations in India. The move follows Friulair’s acquisition by Ingersoll Rand, completed in early 2024, and reflects a broader strategy to localise manufacturing for the Indian market.

The start of domestic manufacturing represents a shift for Friulair India, which for more than two decades had operated primarily as a sales and service organisation supplying equipment manufactured overseas. The localisation of production is intended to reduce lead times, improve availability, and enhance customer support by leveraging Ingersoll Rand’s industrial footprint and operating capabilities in India.

“It gives me immense pleasure to share that Friulair has officially started manufacturing operations in India. We are bringing our legacy of excellence in air treatment directly to the Indian market,” states Sunil Sharawat, Country Leader – Friulair India. “By manufacturing locally, we are ensuring faster availability, better support, and solutions tailored for Indian industries.”

The transition to local manufacturing enables Friulair to move away from dependence on imported equipment and align its operations with domestic industrial requirements. The products manufactured in India will be designed to address operating conditions prevalent in local industries, including ambient temperature variations and power conditions.

Ingersoll Rand has major campuses in Naroda (Ahmedabad) and the newly expanded greenfield facility in Sanand, which focuses on industrial technologies and air treatment solutions.

Friulair’s locally manufactured portfolio is expected to focus on core air treatment and process cooling solutions. These include refrigerated air dryers used to remove moisture from compressed air systems, industrial chillers for process cooling applications, and compressed air filters and related accessories used across manufacturing environments where air quality is critical. The shift is intended to support sectors such as general manufacturing, food and beverage, plastics processing, and other industrial applications that rely on consistent and reliable air treatment systems.

Friulair is a specialist in air treatment solutions, with a product range covering compressed air drying, filtration, and industrial cooling systems. Following its integration into Ingersoll Rand, the company is expanding its manufacturing and operational footprint in India as part of the group’s broader industrial technologies strategy.
