Stallion India Fluorochemicals Limited has received environmental clearance for a proposed difluoromethane (R-32) manufacturing plant with an annual capacity of 10,000 metric tonnes at Bhilwara in Rajasthan, enabling the company to proceed with a key capacity addition in refrigerant manufacturing. The approval covers both the core product and associated by-products, and is a statutory requirement for project implementation.
The company said in a stock exchange filing that the environmental clearance was granted by the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA), Rajasthan, on 28 December 2025, under Category B1 of the synthetic organic chemicals industry. The project will be located at Plot No. SP3-10 in the RIICO Industrial Area at Ukhaliya, Tehsil Hurda, District Bhilwara.
According to the disclosure, the approved capacity includes production of difluoromethane (R-32) at 10,000 metric tonnes per annum. The project will also generate hydrochloric acid with a concentration of 30 percent as a by-product, with an approved capacity of 46,460 metric tonnes per annum. In addition, the facility will manufacture blended refrigerants that do not require separate environmental clearance, with an aggregate capacity of 7,500 metric tonnes per annum.
The non-environmental clearance products listed in the approval include blended refrigerants such as R-410A, R-407C, R-404A, R-507A, R-454B, R-513A, R-515B, R-449A and R-448A. These products are commonly used in air-conditioning and refrigeration applications, and their inclusion indicates a broader product slate planned for the Bhilwara unit.
The environmental clearance is a mandatory regulatory approval under applicable environmental laws for the proposed project. As per the terms disclosed, the clearance will remain valid for a maximum period of 10 years, with a provision for extension by an additional one year beyond the initial validity period, subject to conditions specified under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change notification dated 12 April 2022.
