Danfoss India today announced the launch of Danfoss PowerNEU Private Limited, a joint venture with engineering firm PowerNEU, alongside a groundbreaking ceremony for a new manufacturing facility and office in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. The venture is intended to support India’s metals and heavy industries through a locally embedded execution and solutions model.

Danfoss India said the establishment of Danfoss PowerNEU strengthens its long-term commitment to India by enabling closer delivery of advanced technologies and decarbonisation solutions to industrial customers. The Jamshedpur facility is located in India’s steel-producing region and is positioned to serve steel and metals producers across Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and neighbouring industrial regions.

The company said the joint venture has been structured as a long-term platform to scale decarbonisation solutions across India’s metals and heavy industry ecosystem. The facility is designed to support solution development closer to customers, backed by 24×7 connectivity and rapid on-site response, with the objective of improving execution speed and aligning solutions with actual plant operating conditions.

“India’s metals and heavy industries are at a pivotal stage where growth must align with sustainability,” said Ravichandran Purushothaman, President, Danfoss India. “Danfoss PowerNEU reflects our long-term commitment to India by combining global decarbonisation expertise with strong local execution. The Jamshedpur facility reinforces the strategic importance of Eastern India as the country’s steel heartland.”

“The formation of Danfoss PowerNEU is a strategic step to accelerate decarbonisation in India’s core industries,” said Mandar Vaijanapurkar, Head of Drives Sales, Marketing and Services, Danfoss India. “The Centre of Excellence in Jamshedpur will be a core pillar of Danfoss PowerNEU’s execution model. It will focus on application development and advanced engineering to enable faster deployment and continuous performance improvement.”

Once fully operational, the integrated site will provide design, engineering, manufacturing, testing, and quality assurance for complex and process-intensive industrial applications, aligned with Danfoss standards. The facility will deliver products and solutions from across the Danfoss portfolio, including Danfoss Power Drives, Danfoss Climate Solutions, and Danfoss Power Solutions, from a single location.

“Danfoss PowerNEU brings together the complementary strengths of both partners, combining Danfoss’s global experience, advanced drive technologies, and proven decarbonisation solutions with PowerNEU’s strong engineering capabilities, deep local insight, and execution excellence,” said Vijay Kumar Singh, Managing Director, Danfoss PowerNEU Systems Private Limited. “This partnership is designed to significantly enhance customer experience and operational outcomes for steel producers across the region.”

The Jamshedpur site will also house a dedicated Experience Centre focused on decarbonisation technologies across power electronics, climate control, and hydraulics. The Experience Centre is expected to support customer engagement through hands-on training, technology demonstrations, and capability development for customers and partners.

“A core pillar of Danfoss PowerNEU is the establishment of a dedicated Centre of Excellence in Jamshedpur,” said Tanmay Roy, Director Operations, Danfoss PowerNEU Systems Private Limited. “The Centre of Excellence will focus on application development, advanced engineering, and capability building for the metals sector, enabling faster solution deployment, predictive diagnostics, and continuous performance improvement at the plant level.”

Danfoss said energy efficiency is emerging as a key lever as industries accelerate decarbonisation efforts. The company cited estimates indicating that about 53 percent of global energy is expected to be lost as waste heat by 2030, while demand for green steel in India is projected to rise to 4.49 million tonnes by financial year 2030, positioning decarbonisation technologies as a growth opportunity alongside sustainability goals.
