Grene WIS India has expanded its manufacturing facility in the Kanchipuram/Serapanachery area near Chennai, increasing its size from 1,500 square metres to 3,500 square metres. The new factory is focused on steel fabrication and is intended to support heavy industries, process plants, and wind turbine suppliers and operators.

The expanded unit is equipped with CNC laser cutting, plasma and flame cutting, welding, shearing, bending, milling, lathe work, rolling, and punching capabilities. The company manufactures components using carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminium, with applications including wind turbine gearboxes, tool rings, lifting equipment, and hydraulic tools.

The opening event was attended by Ganesan Nagaraj, Senior Director and Head of Operations at Vestas India. “The factory’s development highlights the importance of steel fabrication to the wind energy sector,” he said.

Grene WIS India Pvt. Ltd. was established in 2021 as part of Denmark-based Grene Wind Industry Supplies, a company that provides equipment, tools, and components to the wind energy sector and heavy industries. The Indian subsidiary operates a fabrication facility in the Kanchipuram/Serapanachery region near Chennai and maintains its corporate office in West Tambaram, Chennai. Its activities focus on steel fabrication, including the production of specialised tools, spare parts, and components for process plants and wind turbine operators.

The parent company, Grene Wind Industry Supplies, is headquartered in Denmark and operates globally, supplying workshop equipment, lifting tools, hydraulic systems, and fabricated components for the wind power industry. The group has expanded its presence through international subsidiaries, including the Indian operation, as part of its strategy to scale production capacity and strengthen its role in the renewable energy supply chain.
