ASM Technologies Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Tamil Nadu to invest INR 2.5 billion in the state for expanding its design-led manufacturing capabilities in the Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) sector. The company will acquire 5 acres of land from the state government to set up a new design facility.
According to the company, the investment will support expansion in precision engineering and ESDM-related manufacturing while augmenting its design capabilities and product portfolio. ASM Technologies currently operates two manufacturing facilities at Dabaspet in Karnataka and Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu.
ASM Technologies Limited operates two main manufacturing facilities in India, one at Dabaspet in Karnataka and another at Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu, which cater to clients in the electronics, semiconductor, automotive, and solar sectors. Together, these facilities cover more than 55,000 square feet and function as hubs for the company’s design-led manufacturing and precision engineering operations, serving both Indian and international clients.
The company has recently stepped up investments to expand its capabilities in these areas. In Karnataka, it signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2025 committing INR 5.1 billion for the acquisition of 10 acres from the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board to increase capacity in Electronics System Design and Manufacturing and precision engineering.
The facility at Dabaspet has been developed as part of the company’s efforts to scale up its design-led manufacturing and precision engineering services, while the Sriperumbudur facility focuses on advanced electronics and design-led production. The planned expansion in Tamil Nadu follows the recent agreement with the state government and is expected to add to ASM’s existing manufacturing base in the region.
ASM’s sectoral expertise spans electronics, semiconductors, solar, and automotive, with capabilities in engineering, prototyping, and system integration. The company’s investments in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu are aligned with its strategy to expand precision engineering and design-led manufacturing operations to meet growing demand across these sectors.
