Monolithisch India Limited plans to increase its installed manufacturing capacity for unshaped refractory materials to 250,000 tonnes per annum as part of its ongoing phased expansion programme. Trial runs for the enhanced capacity are scheduled to begin on 14 January 2026, with commercial operations expected to commence from 21 January 2026.

The expansion will raise its existing capacity from 206,000 tonnes per annum to 250,000 tonnes per annum. The capacity enhancement forms part of previously disclosed initiatives aimed at strengthening operating scale in the unshaped refractory materials segment.

The expanded capacity follows the completion of preparatory activities and reflects improvements in operational execution and manufacturing efficiency. The additional output is intended to support growing demand for the company’s existing product range as well as its premium product offering, SGB-Limited.

SGB-Limited is a high-performance ramming mass refractory material manufactured by Monolithisch India. It is designed for use in induction furnace linings, including furnaces with W-panel configurations, and is primarily used in steelmaking applications. In addition to SGB-Limited, the company manufactures multiple grades of premixed refractory ramming mass, including SLM-999, SLM-980, BG-77, LG-86 and SGB-777, which are supplied to steel plants and foundries.

The company stated that the capacity expansion will contribute towards achieving a net installed group capacity of 574,000 tonnes per annum by the first quarter of 2026. The term group capacity refers to the combined installed manufacturing capacity across entities within the Mineral Group, of which Monolithisch India is a part.

Monolithisch India Limited manufactures unshaped refractory materials for industrial applications, primarily serving the steel and foundry sectors. The company was formerly known as Monolithisch India Private Limited and is listed on the National Stock Exchange of India under the symbol Monolith.
