Calderys, a provider of industrial solutions, has inaugurated a new synthetic‑powder production line at its Steel Casting Fluxes plant in Durgapur, West Bengal, on 1 August 2025. The new line features upgraded mixing technology and enhanced packaging systems, aimed at boosting efficiency, minimizing process variability, and reinforcing safety compliance. The facility incorporates advanced safety and emissions‑control systems, along with resource‑efficient and sustainability features such as dust suppression, rainwater harvesting, and zero‑water discharge.

Localised production will reduce dependence on imports and enable quicker delivery to customers in eastern and southern India. It also enhances Calderys’s ability to supply customised, high‑performance fluxes tailored for India’s growing micro‑alloy steel sector—driven by activity in infrastructure, manufacturing, and exports.

Along with this development, Calderys is undergoing a broader CAPES (Calderys Plant in East & South India) expansion, which includes six cutting‑edge production lines scheduled for phased commissioning through the second half of 2025. The CAPES greenfield facility spans approximately 40–45 acres in Odisha and is expected to eventually house lines for acidic and basic monolithics, bricks, steel casting fluxes, and taphole clay, along with robust environmental and operational infrastructure.

Calderys is a global provider of industrial solutions specializing in monolithic refractories, precast shapes, and steel casting fluxes, serving sectors including steel, cement, aluminium, and energy across more than 30 countries.
