JK Tyre & Industries Limited inaugurated Phase III of capacity expansion and modernisation at its passenger car radial (PCR) tyre manufacturing facility in Banmore, Madhya Pradesh, on 14 January 2026. The expansion raises the plant’s output capacity and forms part of a multi-phase investment programme aimed at supporting rising demand in India’s passenger vehicle market.

The commissioning of Phase III increases the Banmore facility’s production capacity to 30,000 passenger car radial tyres per day, equivalent to around 10.5 million tyres annually. According to a press release issued by JK Tyre & Industries Limited, the expansion is part of a cumulative investment of more than INR 10 billion at the Banmore plant.

The newly added manufacturing infrastructure was inaugurated in the presence of Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, along with Raghupati Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director, and Anshuman Singhania, Managing Director, of JK Tyre & Industries Limited. The Banmore facility supplies PCR tyres to original equipment manufacturers as well as the replacement market.

“With the commissioning of Phase III, the Banmore plant has further strengthened its role in our passenger car radial operations,” said Raghupati Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director of JK Tyre & Industries Limited. “The expansion focuses on capacity enhancement and modernisation to support growing passenger vehicle demand and evolving requirements from OEMs and consumers.”

The Banmore facility has been developed in multiple phases over several years as JK Tyre expanded its PCR manufacturing footprint. The latest phase includes modern manufacturing systems designed to improve throughput and operational efficiency while maintaining quality standards required by vehicle manufacturers.

The company stated that the Banmore plant contributes to regional industrial activity through direct and indirect employment generation. The facility also incorporates energy-efficient processes and manufacturing practices aligned with the company’s environmental and social objectives.

In addition to manufacturing operations, the Banmore unit has supported community-focused initiatives in surrounding areas, including programmes related to healthcare, adult literacy, livelihood development, rural infrastructure, and local sports. These initiatives are part of the company’s broader engagement with communities near its manufacturing locations.

JK Tyre & Industries Limited manufactures tyres for passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, two-wheelers, and off-highway applications, with production facilities across India and overseas. The Banmore plant is a key unit within the company’s passenger car radial manufacturing network, supplying tyres to domestic automobile manufacturers and the aftermarket.
