Kores (India) Limited has appointed Venkatachalam K R as Chief Executive Officer of its Engineering Products Division, strengthening its leadership as the company expands its capital equipment manufacturing and advanced engineering operations. Venkatachalam will oversee multi-plant manufacturing, product development and aftermarket services across the division’s engineering portfolio, with a focus on domestic and international markets.

In his new role, he will be responsible for driving operational performance across multiple facilities, expanding engineering-led product offerings and scaling service capabilities. The appointment comes as Kores seeks to increase its presence in capital equipment manufacturing aligned with India’s industrial and infrastructure demand.

Venkatachalam joins Kores from Wheels India Limited, where he served as Vice President and Business Head. At Wheels India, he led the wind energy and railway businesses, managing multi-factory operations and full profit-and-loss responsibility. His tenure included oversight of manufacturing scale-up and operational execution across business verticals.

Before joining Wheels India, Venkatachalam spent more than a decade at Danfoss, holding roles including Director of Operations, Plant Head and Site Head. During this period, he managed large manufacturing operations, led capital expenditure programmes and implemented productivity and safety initiatives across multiple sites. His responsibilities also included capacity expansion and cost optimisation projects.

Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership and operational roles at Aequs Pvt. Ltd., AMW Motors Ltd. and thyssenkrupp Automotive. Across these organisations, he worked in areas spanning operations management, strategic sourcing, supplier development and lean manufacturing practices. He began his professional career as a Production Engineer at Rajsriya Automotive Industries Private Limited.

Kores (India) Limited traces its origins to 1932 and has diversified across multiple industrial segments over the decades. Its Engineering Products Division was established in 1985 as part of the group’s expansion into industrial and capital equipment manufacturing. The division supplies exploration drilling equipment and capital machinery for coal, iron ore, coal bed methane and related sectors.

The Engineering Products Division forms a key part of Kores’ industrial operations, serving mining and resource-linked industries with specialised equipment and engineering solutions.
