Litens Automotive Group has inaugurated its Technical Centre India (TCI) at the IWF campus in Bengaluru, expanding its engineering and digital development footprint in the country. The facility is intended to support global programmes in electronics, software validation and virtual engineering, aligning with the company’s transition toward software-defined mobility.

The new centre is located within Bengaluru’s technology ecosystem and is expected to contribute to Litens’ global engineering operations, particularly in advanced automotive systems. The Technical Centre India will function as a global hub for electronics development, software validation and virtual engineering, with a focus on artificial intelligence-driven engineering and Model-Based Systems Engineering.

The inauguration was attended by senior members of the company’s leadership team, including Prasad Atluri, Vice President, Innovation, Yogesh Upadhyay, General Manager, Litens India, Sudeep Gaurkar, Engineering Director, Litens India, and Santosh Kumar Singh, Engineering Leader, Litens India. Representatives from technology and engineering partners, including Tata Elxsi, Larsen & Toubro, Vector and Ansys, were also present at the event.

The Technical Centre India is expected to support Litens’ global product development activities as vehicle architectures increasingly integrate software, electronics and digital validation processes. The facility will strengthen its capabilities in virtual product development and systems engineering, reducing development cycles and improving integration across hardware and software platforms.

Litens Automotive Group has been expanding its presence in India across both engineering and manufacturing. The company operates a fully integrated manufacturing facility at Chakan MIDC Phase IV in Pune, Maharashtra, with an area of approximately 40,000 square feet. The plant handles assembly, testing and warehousing, and was established to localise production for Indian original equipment manufacturers while also serving export markets.

The Chakan facility manufactures key powertrain components, including automatic belt tensioners, idler pulleys and vibration dampers designed to reduce noise, vibration and harshness. The site has also been designed to support future production of thermal management systems for electric and hybrid vehicles, reflecting the company’s longer-term electrification strategy.

The manufacturing unit is a greenfield project that replaced Litens’ earlier operations in Kharabwadi and is currently fully operational. The plant was developed to improve safety, increase production and storage capacity, and enhance accessibility for employees and suppliers, while providing flexibility for additional electrified powertrain product lines.

Litens Automotive Group is headquartered in Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada, and specialises in automotive power transmission and thermal management technologies for internal combustion, hybrid and electric vehicles. The company supplies components to major global automotive original equipment manufacturers and holds multiple patents related to accessory drive systems and powertrain efficiency.
