Lumax Auto Technologies Limited, a manufacturer of automotive systems and components, has inaugurated the Smart Hub for Innovation and Future Trends (SHIFT) Technology Centre in Bengaluru. The centre will support the company’s electronics engineering and digital development efforts as vehicles move towards greater software integration.
The SHIFT Technology Centre will focus on in-cabin experience, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), connectivity, and embedded electronics. The facility includes electronics laboratories for hardware-in-the-loop testing, rapid prototyping and product validation, enabling end-to-end development from concept to commercialisation.
“This centre marks a major step toward our Tier 0.5 vision, enhancing our strengths in electronics, mechatronics, and digital systems,” said Anmol Jain, Managing Director of Lumax Auto Technologies Limited. “We aim to lead the transformation toward intelligent, connected, and sustainable mobility,” said Deepak Jain, Promoter Director of Lumax Auto Technologies Limited.
The SHIFT Technology Centre is equipped to perform hardware-in-the-loop testing and rapid prototyping to validate products intended for software-defined vehicles. Satish Sunderesan, Chief Technology Officer of Lumax Auto Technologies Limited, said the centre will bring together engineering talent and technical resources to develop digitally driven vehicle systems. “With SHIFT, we aim to converge talent, technology, and transformation to engineer software defined and digitally driven vehicles and evolve from smart systems to autonomous intelligence,” he said.
The facility was opened in the presence of representatives from major customers and partners, including Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, Hero MotoCorp, Mahindra & Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors and TVS Motor Company.
The launch forms part of Lumax Group’s stated strategy to expand its electronics and digital capabilities amid industry trends such as electrification, digitisation and autonomous technologies.

Lumax Auto Technologies Limited supplies lighting, chassis, gear shifters, wiring harnesses and other components to OEMs including Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Auto, Maruti Suzuki, Honda Motorcycles and Scooters, Tata Motors and Daimler India.
