Foxconn has commenced production of the iPhone 17 at its new facility in Devanahalli, Bengaluru. Opened in August 2025, this plant is Foxconn’s second-largest unit outside China, established with an investment of approximately USD 2.8 billion (about INR 250 billion).

The Bengaluru facility supplements iPhone 17 production already underway at Foxconn’s Chennai unit. Situated within the Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR), the new plant is expected to create tens of thousands of jobs as operations expand and more suppliers and partner businesses establish a presence in the area.

Apple plans to increase iPhone production in India to 60 million units in 2025, up from approximately 35–40 million units in 2024–25, according to reports. For the year ended 31 March 2025, Apple assembled 60 percent more iPhones in India, with production valued at an estimated USD 22 billion.

The Devanahalli facility is also poised to evolve into a significant export hub, with some iPhones made in India being shipped to the United States and other global markets.

Foxconn, headquartered in Taiwan, is a major electronics contract manufacturer and Apple’s key production partner. The company assembles a range of Apple products, including iPhones, across multiple global sites.
