Arkel Electronic India Pvt. Ltd on 27 February 2026 opened a manufacturing facility for lift electronic systems at GIDC Estate in Savli-Manjusar, Vadodara district, Gujarat, with an investment of about INR 1 billion in Phase 1. The plant will manufacture electronic systems locally in compliance with the IS-17900 standard, with the company stating that the move is intended to reduce import dependency.

The facility marks the company’s entry into manufacturing advanced lift electronic systems in India, which it had previously marketed. The plant has been set up on a 135,000 square foot area and has a production capacity of about 36,000 units per year in a single shift.

The facility includes automated printed circuit board (PCB) assembly lines and semi-automatic machine room (MR) control panel lines. It will produce integrated lift control systems including MR, machine room-less (MRL), and slim panels, with controlled temperature, humidity, cleanliness, and electrostatic discharge management systems in place.

“India is one of the fastest-growing elevator markets in the world, with annual demand over 100,000 units, driven by rapid urbanisation, Smart Cities initiatives, AMRUT projects, housing developments under PMAY, and major infrastructure expansion across metros, airports, and railway redevelopment programmes,” said Vadiraj Katti, Managing Director, Arkel Electronic India Pvt. Ltd.

“The establishment of the Arkel India’s manufacturing unit marks a strategic milestone in strengthening Innovalift’s presence in Asia-Pacific and reinforces Arkel’s long-term commitment to India as a manufacturing and innovation hub,” said Andrea Veggian, CEO, Innovalift AB, Sweden.

Innovalift AB, Sweden acquired Turkiye-based Arkel in January 2025.

“The facility represents modern, precision-driven manufacturing excellence, built to meet global quality standards, local requirements and standards while proudly contributing to India’s industrial growth story,” said Metin Cenk Ceylan, CEO Global, Arkel Elektrik Elektronik.
