Kinetic Engineering Limited announced a promoter group capital infusion of INR 400 million to strengthen its balance sheet and support expansion in electric vehicle (EV) and automotive component businesses. The development was disclosed on 11 March 2026 and comes as the company expands its activities in EV components, battery systems, and precision engineering.

The investment was made through the conversion of warrants, subject to necessary approvals and applicable regulatory provisions. Following the transaction, promoter shareholding in the company increased to 65 percent from 49 percent four years earlier.

The company said the capital infusion is intended to support expansion across its EV initiatives and automotive component operations. The funds will also be used to accelerate distribution expansion for the recently launched Kinetic DX electric scooter developed by its subsidiary.

Kinetic Engineering said it is expanding its role in emerging mobility technologies while continuing to support conventional automotive programmes. The company is developing EV components, battery systems, and precision engineering solutions supplied to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

“It is highly exciting time for us at Kinetic. The response to the scooter, Kinetic DX, launched by the subsidiary company is phenomenal. We are expanding nationwide and plan to appoint over 150 dealers this year. Meanwhile Kinetic Engineering’s component business is showing great potential and new orders. We will be using these funds for expansion of both projects as required and planned. This additional investment reflects the promoter group’s continued confidence in Kinetic Engineering and our long-term strategy. The automotive industry is undergoing a profound shift towards electric mobility, and we are building the capabilities needed to participate meaningfully in this transition. Strengthening the company’s capital base allows us to accelerate investments in technology, manufacturing, and innovation as we prepare for the next phase of growth,” said Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Kinetic Engineering Limited.

The company added that the promoter investment aligns with the group’s broader efforts to develop an EV ecosystem spanning electric vehicles, battery technology, and automotive components. Its subsidiary, Kinetic Watts and Volts, in which Kinetic Engineering holds an 80 percent stake, recently launched an electric version of the Kinetic DX scooter and has started sales and service operations in Pune, Mumbai, Vadodara, Surat, Indore, and the Delhi National Capital Region.

Kinetic Engineering Limited manufactures automotive components and supplies products to OEMs including Tata Motors Limited, Mahindra & Mahindra Limited, Ashok Leyland Limited, Renault, American Axle, Magna Powertrain, and Sonalika Tractors. The company operates a manufacturing facility in Ahilyanagar
