Hettich India Private Limited inaugurated a new manufacturing plant for undermount drawer runners in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, expanding its production capacity for furniture fittings in the country. The facility forms part of the company’s overall investment of approximately INR 20 billion in India and coincides with 25 years of Hettich’s operations in the country.
The new plant spans 25,700 sq. metres within Hettich’s 103,039 sq. metre Indore manufacturing campus. The unit will produce undermount drawer runners, concealed sliding systems installed beneath drawers that enable smooth and soft-close movement in furniture and modular kitchen applications.
The Indore site already includes a hinge manufacturing unit with an annual production capacity of approximately 60 million hinges. With the commissioning of the new Quadro plant, the facility will also manufacture around five million undermount drawer runners annually.
The Indore facility produces a range of furniture fittings including hinges, sliding profiles, aluminium profiles, SL 16+ systems and Cube Plus systems. The company said the expansion strengthens its manufacturing capabilities to meet demand in India and international markets.
The plant is equipped with roll-forming technology and automated manufacturing systems designed to support consistent product quality. Sustainability features integrated into the facility include rainwater harvesting, solar power installations and a zero liquid discharge system.
The hinge manufacturing unit at the Indore complex currently employs around 700 people. With the addition of the new facility, the company expects to generate approximately 300 additional jobs.
