EKKI Water Technologies, part of the Coimbatore-based EKKI Group, on 19 February 2026 launched the LINUS Clog-Defense Sewage Pump Range in India in collaboration with Germany-based HOMA Pumpenfabrik GmbH. The company said the pumps are manufactured in India and developed specifically for Indian operating conditions, with plans to serve both domestic and select overseas markets.
The launch also marks an expansion of the Indo-German joint venture EKKI HOMA, which focuses on sewage pumping solutions engineered for India and emerging markets. As part of its global growth strategy, the HOMA Group has invested over USD 30 million in expansion, with a portion allocated to the joint venture with EKKI.
The LINUS range is designed for clog-free operation and is intended to handle heavy solids and fibrous waste to reduce blockages, breakdowns and downtime. The pumps are suitable for residential complexes, commercial and institutional buildings, industrial wastewater applications, original equipment manufacturers, and municipal and decentralised sewage systems. The company said the products are built to operate in corrosive and abrasive environments and to deliver consistent efficiency under continuous, round-the-clock operation.
Kanishka Arumugam, Co-Chief Executive of EKKI Group, said India generates close to 72–75 billion litres of wastewater per day, while approximately 70 percent remains contaminated and untreated, citing data from NITI Aayog. He added that 60 percent of treatment plants fail because of unreliable pumps or clogging.
“EKKI HOMA goes beyond a conventional partnership. It is the formation of a new, independent company focused exclusively on solving India’s sewage pumping challenges through purpose-built products and systems,” Arumugam said.
The company said the LINUS pumps were tested at more than 100 sites over the past year before commercial launch. The products will be sold in India, with a portion exported to Germany. Arumugam said the company’s immediate focus remains India and neighbouring markets, given the scale of untreated wastewater domestically.
