Krones AG has broken ground on its INR 3.15 billion manufacturing facility at Vemagal Industrial Park Phase 2 in the Kolar district of Karnataka. The company provides solutions for the beverage industry and food producers, including process technology, filling technology, packaging machines, and IT solutions.
The new manufacturing facility in Vemagal is expected to generate 550 jobs. In line with its localization strategy, the company plans to bring in a sourcing manager by April 2025. Many of the company’s existing vendors, such as Festo and Siemens, are already present in the state. The new facility is expected to commence operations by the end of 2026.
The Vemagal plant will significantly enhance Krones’ bottling machine manufacturing capacity, catering to the growing demand for advanced beverage packaging solutions in India and beyond.
The Krones Group, headquartered in Neutraubling, Germany, plans, develops, and manufactures machines and complete lines for process technology, bottling, canning, and packaging. Across its German factories in Neutraubling, Nittenau, Rosenheim, and Flensburg, the company employs nearly 10,000 people.
Krones AG also announced its preliminary figures for 2024 and its outlook for 2025. The company reported a 12.1% increase in revenue, reaching EUR 5.294 billion. “A large order backlog ensures production capacity utilization through the beginning of 2026,” stated Christoph Klenk, Chairman of Krones AG. The company expects revenue growth of 7%-9% in 2025 and has set a midterm target of EUR 7 billion by 2028, with an EBITDA margin of 11%-13% and a return on capital employed (ROCE) exceeding 20%.
