ystral GmbH Maschinenbau + Prozesstechnik is expanding its operations in India with the establishment of a new location in Bangalore, as part of a broader plan to strengthen its presence in the Indian and Southeast Asian markets. The expansion includes team growth, increased localisation of component sourcing, and the development of the Bangalore site into a regional service hub.

The move is aimed at improving customer support, accelerating project execution, and enhancing competitiveness in one of the company’s fastest-growing markets. According to a press release issued by ystral, the Bangalore facility will support customers in India while also serving other Asian markets over time.

ystral plans, designs, and manufactures mixing, dispersing, and powder wetting machines, as well as complete process systems used in industries including chemicals, food, paint and varnish, pharmaceuticals, household products, cosmetics, and battery cell manufacturing. The company has operated in India through its subsidiary, ystral India Private Limited, since 2013.

With the relocation to the new Bangalore site, ystral is expanding its Indian workforce from nine to 15 employees. The local team covers engineering, electrical engineering, software development, sales, and service functions. The company said the larger facility will allow it to better coordinate technical support and customer-facing activities.

“This step is part of our continuous commitment to improve our operational processes and offer our customers service at the highest level,” said Srirangarajan Santhanam, Branch Manager of ystral in India.

As part of its expansion strategy, ystral is also increasing the localisation of manufacturing. Selected components, such as motor frames, will be manufactured in India to a greater extent, while core components will continue to be produced in Germany. Final assembly will be carried out with a local partner.

“Through this local sourcing and final assembly by a local partner, we are securing our competitiveness in the challenging Indian market and can offer our customers there better terms without making compromises on quality,” said Dominik Seeger, Senior Vice President Sales at ystral. He added that strengthening the Bangalore team would enable faster project implementation, which he described as a critical factor in the Indian market.

India is currently ystral’s fastest-growing market globally. Looking ahead, the company plans to develop the Bangalore operation into a service hub for Asia, supporting customers in neighbouring countries and assisting ystral’s branches in China and Singapore. The Indian unit is also expected to provide software development services for the company’s operations in Germany.

ystral GmbH Maschinenbau + Prozesstechnik is an owner-managed family business headquartered in Ballrechten-Dottingen near Freiburg, Germany. The ystral Group employs just under 300 people worldwide and supplies mixing and process technology to industrial customers across multiple sectors.
