Nibe Limited, an Indian defence technology company, has signed a licensing agreement with the Research & Development Establishment (Engineers) (R&DE(E)), Pune, a unit under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), for the transfer of technology for a Modular Bridging System. The agreement enables Nibe to manufacture and supply these mobile bridges, with lengths ranging from 14 metres to 46 metres, for a period of ten years.
Under the agreement, Nibe Limited has been granted exclusive rights to supply the Modular Bridging System to the Indian Armed Forces and other government agencies within the specified licensing regions.
The Modular Bridging System is a mechanically launched mobile bridge developed by DRDO. It is designed for rapid deployment to support the movement of tracked and wheeled vehicles across spans up to 46 metres, addressing the operational requirements of the Indian Armed Forces and other agencies.
