TKIL Industries, formerly thyssenkrupp Industries India, has partnered with Swiss manufacturer SoHHytec to set up a green hydrogen plant in India within the next year. The company is in discussions with potential customers in sectors such as steel and oil marketing for the proposed facility.
“I’m quite hopeful, within the next 12 months, you will see us building out a green hydrogen plant with our technology,” said Vivek Bhatia, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of TKIL Industries. He added, “We are the EPC player. We are talking to steel manufacturers. We are talking to oil marketing companies. So, whoever needs green hydrogen will invite us and we will build the plant for them and hand it over to them.”
Under the agreement, TKIL Industries will be the exclusive partner in India for SoHHytec to manufacture and supply specific equipment and machinery, in addition to installing green hydrogen projects. The company has been investing between INR 250 million and INR 500 million annually to expand capacity by adding bays within its existing plant, and a larger investment may be considered if additional space is required.
Separately, TKIL Industries has also entered into a partnership with German manufacturer HOPPECKE Batterien GmbH & Co for battery systems in the Indian rail sector.
TKIL Industries operates across mining, bulk material handling systems, and cement plants, in addition to its engineering, procurement and construction activities.
