NBI Bearings Europe S.A., a Spain-based manufacturer of precision bearings and industrial components, has expanded production capacity at its facility in Ahmedabad, India, with the launch of a third production shift. The move marks a significant step in the company’s ongoing growth plan for its Indian operations.
According to Roberto Martínez, Co-founder of NBI Bearings Europe, the expansion reflects the company’s “strong value proposal” and the continued commitment of its “outstanding team.” He added that new production lines, a new factory, and dedicated depots across India are enabling faster delivery and broader inventory coverage for customers.
The Ahmedabad facility’s third shift will enhance operational capacity and improve process efficiency, supporting increased demand in both domestic and export markets. This plant is equipped with CNC grinding, super finishing lines, and spherical roller grinding lines.
The expansion also aligns with NBI’s strategy to strengthen its presence in India’s industrial supply chain and serve key sectors such as automotive, railways, and renewable energy equipment.
Earlier this year the company commenced construction of a new bearing manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad, India. The upcoming facility will include automated grinding lines, offices, a warehouse, and laboratories for metallography, metrology, life testing, and vibration testing.
NBI Bearings Europe, founded in 2002 and headquartered in Basque Country, Spain, designs, manufactures, and distributes bearings and precision components through subsidiaries in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. The company’s Indian division, NBI India, manages manufacturing operations and warehousing infrastructure to support regional growth and distribution.
