Beumer Group has inaugurated a new material handling systems manufacturing facility in Reliance MET City, Jhajjar, Haryana. The plant, opened in December 2025 following a foundation stone ceremony in June 2024, represents a significant expansion of the company’s presence in India as it moves to meet rising demand from the airport, e-commerce and heavy industry sectors.
According to the project details, the company has invested about INR 2 billion in the unit, which spans more than 10 acres in the industrial township located near Gurugram and Delhi. The facility is expected to generate employment for about 750 people. It is the first production unit established by a German company in Reliance MET City, which already hosts several Japanese and South Korean manufacturers.
The plant will manufacture advanced material handling solutions, including baggage handling systems for airports, automated sortation equipment for e-commerce fulfilment centres and conveying and loading systems for cement, mining and petrochemical applications. The facility is integrated into Beumer’s global manufacturing footprint, enabling it to serve both domestic and international markets.
“Beumer has always been continuously investing in India. In 2011, we took a major step by acquiring an Indian SME. We then invested in a modern office of 4,228 square meters in Gurgaon, which opened in 2023. Today, we celebrate yet another milestone, the inauguration of this state-of-the-art factory, built on a 42,508 sqm plot at Reliance MET City. This factory is not just for India, it will serve Beumer customers globally, delivering the Beumer quality that we are known for. From identifying the land to this grand opening, we completed this project in just 15 months, a remarkable achievement,” said Nitin Vyas, CEO, Beumer Group Cluster Asia.
Beumer’s expansion aligns with its strategy to increase localisation of high-end systems in India. The company has noted a shift in its business composition, with a growing share of revenue coming from turnkey project execution rather than standalone product sales. This transition follows strong domestic demand, including the expansion of regional airports and sustained investment cycles in cement and mining.
“India’s economic progress has been healthy and consistent, and Beumer is proud to be part of this growth story. India is poised to become the third-largest air passenger market in the world, and Beumer is a clear market leader in Baggage Handling System Technology. We are also emerging as a leader in Minerals and Mining systems offering innovative and sustainable solutions. In the cement industry, Beumer is the market leader in cement packing plant technology, delivering energy-efficient systems that support India’s infrastructure development. Our belief in India goes beyond market potential, we believe in its talent. That is why Beumer is working to make India our Global Capability Centre,” said Rudolf Hausladen, CEO, Beumer Group.
Beumer India Private Limited recorded revenue of INR 629.1 million in calendar year 2023 and INR 759.1 million in calendar year 2024. A rating report indicates that the company had an order book of INR 1.336 billion as of August 2025, providing visibility for the next several operating cycles. Profitability has improved, with EBITDA margins rising to about 12 percent. The capital expenditure for the Jhajjar plant is being funded largely through internal accruals, supported by external commercial borrowings and guarantees extended by the German parent.
The company has also expanded its engineering functions in India. Its Indian operations provide design and project support for assignments in other regions, forming part of Beumer’s global engineering network. The report notes that the early 2025 revenue fluctuation was linked to deferred execution of a major project, reflecting the project-based nature of the business.
Beumer Group, headquartered in Germany, supplies conveying, loading, palletising, packaging, sortation and distribution systems to airport, logistics and industrial customers worldwide.
Beumer Group marked its ninetieth anniversary on 9 December 2025, commemorating its origins in Beckum, Germany, where it was founded in 1935 with four employees and a small workshop. The company has since expanded to more than 6,000 employees across about 40 entities worldwide. Its long history reflects sustained growth in intralogistics technologies and continued investment in new systems and digital models.
