INOXGFL Group has inaugurated a 3 gigawatt (GW) solar module manufacturing facility and a 1.2 GW wind turbine nacelle and hub manufacturing plant near Ahmedabad, expanding its manufacturing footprint across the solar and wind energy value chain in Gujarat. The facilities are located at Bavla and Kalyangarh, both near Ahmedabad, and are intended to support domestic and export demand for renewable energy equipment.
The solar module manufacturing facility at Bavla has an installed capacity of 3 GW and has been developed with an investment of approximately INR 4 billion. According to a press release issued by the company, the first phase of the facility has been commissioned and is fully automated, incorporating advanced manufacturing technology for the production of N-type TOPCon solar modules. The modules are bifacial, enabling power generation from both sides and improving energy output and capacity utilisation factors.
Alongside the solar plant, the group has inaugurated Inox Wind’s nacelle and hub manufacturing facility at Kalyangarh near Bavla. The plant has a capacity of 1.2 GW and has been set up with an investment of around INR 1.5 billion. The facility will manufacture nacelles and hubs, which are key components of wind turbines, housing the gearbox, generator and electrical control systems and connecting the rotor blades to the main shaft.
The company stated that the nacelle and hub plant has been built to global manufacturing standards and approved by the National Institute of Wind Energy. It will cater to Inox Wind’s 3 megawatt (MW) class wind turbines and its upcoming 4X MW class turbines. Its location is intended to improve logistical access to renewable energy project sites across western and southern India, reducing transportation time and execution timelines.
Speaking at the inauguration, Devansh Jain, Executive Director of INOXGFL Group, said the Bavla solar module facility forms part of a broader investment programme of approximately INR 55 billion planned by the group in India and overseas over a two-year period in the solar energy segment. He added that the group is also establishing an integrated solar cell and module manufacturing facility in Dhenkanal, Odisha.
Jain said the group plans to build cumulative solar module manufacturing capacity of 11 GW and solar cell capacity of 8 GW by FY27 across India and overseas. He stated that these plans could result in annual revenues exceeding INR 200 billion from the solar business, with consolidated revenues for Inox Clean projected to reach around INR 300 billion by FY28.
INOXGFL Group operates businesses across fluoropolymers, chemicals, renewable energy and related manufacturing segments, with Inox Wind and Inox Solar forming key parts of its clean energy portfolio.
