KP Green Engineering Limited inaugurated a steel fabrication and galvanising facility at Matar in Bharuch district, Gujarat, adding 294,000 tonnes per annum of production capacity. The facility expands the company’s manufacturing footprint and is expected to support demand from power transmission, renewable energy and infrastructure projects.

The plant was virtually inaugurated on 23 December by Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, with senior management and employees in attendance. The commissioning also included the inauguration of a large galvanising kettle at the site by Bogolo Joy Kenewendo, Minister for Minerals and Energy of Botswana.

The Matar unit is designed as an integrated fabrication and galvanising facility. The Matar plant is expected to supply fabricated and galvanised structures for power transmission and distribution networks, solar and wind mounting systems, railway electrification, roads and highways, telecom infrastructure, pre-engineered buildings and heavy engineering projects. The company stated that the facility is being integrated with green hydrogen-based processes under the National Green Hydrogen Mission to reduce carbon emissions in galvanising and steel treatment operations.

Dr. Faruk G. Patel, founding promoter of KP Group, said the facility has been designed to deliver uniform quality and long-life galvanised structures for infrastructure and renewable energy sectors. He added that the plant aligns with the group’s focus on expanding manufacturing capacity to support national infrastructure requirements.

The company said the Matar facility is expected to generate between 6,000 and 7,000 direct and indirect jobs. KP Green Engineering also supplies fabricated and galvanised structures to overseas markets, including the United States.

KP Green Engineering Limited is part of the KP Group and is engaged in the manufacture of fabricated and galvanised steel structures for power transmission, renewable energy and infrastructure applications, with manufacturing facilities located in Gujarat.
