SunChain Group, a Taiwan-headquartered manufacturer of furniture hardware and industrial sliding systems, has commenced manufacturing operations at its newly established facility in Haryana, marking the localisation of production for heavy-duty drawer slides and industrial telescopic rails for the Indian market. The facility is operated through Sunchain Metal Technology Private Limited, the group’s Indian subsidiary incorporated in August 2025.
Local manufacturing enables compliance with Bureau of Indian Standards requirements, improved supply stability, shorter lead times, and greater control over quality.
The site has progressed from factory setup and equipment installation to production, establishing SunChain’s first manufacturing footprint in India. SunChain brings more than two decades of manufacturing experience in ball bearing telescopic slides into its Indian operations, aligning local production with its global ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 quality and environmental management systems. The facility forms part of the group’s broader effort to integrate India into its global manufacturing network.
The company’s registered office is in Gurugram and manufacturing unit is located at Shed No. C6 and C7, DRS Warehouse, Aurangabad, in the Faridabad–Palwal industrial belt of Haryana. The start of operations follows the completion of factory setup, equipment installation, quality control systems, and the initiation of commercial production.
SunChain Group is privately held and headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, with additional manufacturing operations in Vietnam and Taiwan. The company manufactures furniture hardware, heavy-duty drawer slides, and architectural fittings for domestic and international markets.
SunChain’s heavy-duty drawer slides and industrial telescopic rails are engineered for load capacities ranging from 350 kilograms to 500 kilograms and are intended for use across industrial logistics systems, warehouse automation, electric vehicle battery trays, transport interiors, banking infrastructure such as automated teller machines, and high-end furniture and office installations. TUMA is the SunChain Group’s premium brand for heavy-duty industrial sliding systems and is positioned globally for high-load and specialised applications.
Manufacturing of these heavy-duty drawer slides and industrial telescopic rails follows a multi-stage, automated coil-to-product process designed to handle high-gauge steel while maintaining tight dimensional tolerances. Production begins with continuous roll-forming operations, where cold-rolled steel coils are progressively shaped into inner, intermediate, and outer rail profiles through a series of precision rollers. This process ensures uniform structural strength and consistency across long production runs.
The formed profiles then move to a CNC punching and piercing stage using high-tonnage hydraulic special purpose machines. These machines create mounting holes, slots, and mechanical travel stops with precise positioning, which is critical for smooth telescopic movement and load stability under heavy operating conditions. Given the thickness of steel used for industrial-grade rails, this stage is designed to deliver clean edges and accurate alignment.
Final assembly involves automated ball-bearing insertion and rail integration. Chrome steel ball bearings are fed through vibratory bowl systems into retainers, after which pneumatic actuators assemble the nested rail components. This automated assembly ensures low-friction movement, controlled extension, and durability under repeated heavy-load cycles.
Finished rails undergo dimensional checks, load testing, and cycle testing to verify extension smoothness, load-bearing capacity, and durability under repeated operating conditions.
