INOX India Ltd (INOXCVA) has secured a contract from Island Power Producers Limited (IPP) to design, engineer, and supply a mini LNG receiving and regasification terminal in Nassau, The Bahamas. This terminal will support a 60 MW combined-cycle power plant that provides shore power to cruise ships docking at the Nassau Cruise Port. According to a press release by the company, the facility will also serve as a distribution point for smaller LNG consumers in the region.

The terminal will include 10 double-walled, vacuum-insulated LNG storage tanks, each with a capacity of 1,500 cubic meters, for a total storage capacity of 15,000 cubic meters. INOXCVA states this installation will be the largest of its kind globally for shop-built LNG storage tanks. Once operational, the terminal will be able to receive LNG from smaller vessels and reload it into ISO containers for distribution to nearby users.

This project is the third mini LNG terminal developed by INOXCVA, following the recent completion of a similar facility in Antigua. INOXCVA reports that this contract represents the largest order its LNG division has received to date.
