Adani Defence Systems and Technologies Ltd. (ADSTL), a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises, has announced the signing of a share purchase agreement to acquire an 85.8% stake in Air Works India (Engineering) Private Limited. The acquisition is valued at an enterprise amount of ₹400 crore, according to a press release issued by the company.

Air Works India, a private-sector Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) company, operates across 35 cities in India with a workforce of over 1,300 personnel. It provides a range of services including line maintenance, heavy checks, interior refurbishment, painting, redelivery checks, avionics services, and asset management for fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. The company’s primary facilities are located in Hosur, Mumbai, and Kochi, with approvals from civil aviation authorities in more than 20 countries.

In addition to its services in civil aviation, Air Works has developed significant capabilities in the defence MRO sector, undertaking projects for platforms used by the Indian Navy and Indian Air Force.

The acquisition aims to enhance ADSTL’s capabilities in the aviation sector, including both civil and defence MRO services. It marks a step toward expanding the company’s presence in aviation services and aligning with the growth trajectory of India’s aviation industry.
