The Adani Group has announced a nationwide skill development initiative in partnership with the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) to train a workforce for manufacturing, green energy, high-tech industries, and industrial design. The program will include an internationally benchmarked institution and finishing school at Mundra, with an investment of INR 20 billion.
The initiative aims to train students from technical and vocational backgrounds, aligning their education with industry requirements. Graduates will receive certifications and have the opportunity to seek employment within Adani Group businesses or other sectors.
Robin Bhowmik, CEO of Adani Skills & Education, stated that the collaboration with IGCC would focus on academic quality assurance, certification-driven learning pathways, and faculty and student exchange programs. Ute Brockmann, IGCC Deputy Director General, noted that IGCC would bring expertise in German Standard Dual Vocational Education programs to the partnership.
IGCC, established in 1956, is a non-profit organization and the largest German bi-national chamber abroad, representing nearly 4,000 companies across multiple industries in India.
The Adani Group’s skill development initiative is expected to contribute to workforce training in sectors aligned with the ‘Make in India’ manufacturing strategy.
