Mitsui Chemicals India Pvt. Ltd. (MCIND), a subsidiary of Mitsui Chemicals, Inc., has established a Coating Technical Center (CTC) in Gurugram, Haryana. The facility, covering 4,800 square feet, is intended to enhance technical support capabilities in the coatings and engineering materials sector. An opening ceremony was held on February 18, 2025.

The CTC is equipped with coating machines capable of handling multiple coating methods, including gravure, reverse gravure, and air knife techniques. Additionally, it houses analyzers for product evaluation. The center will allow for testing and research to be conducted locally, reducing the need to send materials to Japan for analysis.

The facility will focus on evaluating products such as CHEMIPEARL™, TAKELAC™, TAKENATE™, and BONRON™. It will also support product development through research on coating technologies and technical guidance for customers using Mitsui Chemicals’ materials.

Mitsui Chemicals stated that the CTC will serve as a base for meeting the growing demand for sustainable packaging solutions in India, driven by regulatory changes and environmental concerns. The company also indicated that the center may contribute to technical support efforts in other regions, including the Middle East and Africa.
