German-based ECKART, a manufacturer of effect pigments, has announced a joint venture with India-based Runaya to build a production facility in Odisha, India. The plant will produce spherical atomized aluminum granules, which are used in industries such as aerospace, solar panels, and high-value effect pigments.

The facility will focus on sustainable manufacturing practices, including the use of recycled aluminum and renewable energy in production. According to the companies, the joint venture aims to meet increasing demand in India and global markets.

Additionally, ECKART and Runaya have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to manufacture aluminum pigments, further expanding their collaboration in advanced material solutions.

Christian Przybyla, President of ECKART, stated that the partnership seeks to combine expertise to drive innovation and provide long-term value for customers. Naivedya Agarwal, Managing Director and Co-founder of Runaya, highlighted the venture’s focus on sustainability and its potential to transform the aluminum powder segment.

ECKART, a subsidiary of ALTANA AG, specializes in metallic effect pigments and related products, serving industries including coatings, printing, and cosmetics. Runaya focuses on sustainable manufacturing and circular economy initiatives in the natural resources sector.
