Hindalco Industries has announced plans to invest INR 450 billion in its aluminium, copper, and specialty alumina businesses. The investment will focus on expanding production capacity and developing high-precision engineered products for various industries, including electric vehicles (EVs), renewable energy, and semiconductors.

Hindalco’s primary aluminium production has grown to 1.3 million tonnes per year, and the company expects to exceed 1 million tonnes of refined copper production. The company is also expanding into battery materials and is setting up a copper foil facility for EV applications. Additionally, Hindalco’s battery foil plant at Aditya and fabrication plant at Chakan will focus on producing components for the EV sector.

Hindalco operates 52 manufacturing facilities across 10 countries, supplying aluminium and copper-based products to multiple industries.
