Haier Appliances India has announced plans to establish its third manufacturing facility in southern India, aiming to expand its production capabilities, according to a report by PTI. The company is currently finalizing the location for the plant, which is expected to become operational between 2026 and 2027.
The proposed facility will primarily serve the domestic market while also catering to export opportunities. Haier, which currently operates manufacturing units in Pune and Greater Noida, has invested ₹2,500 crore in India to date and plans additional investments for the new plant. Details of the funding for this project are under consideration.
In addition to the new facility, Haier is expanding its Greater Noida plant under its second phase of development. This includes backward integration processes, injection molding, and sheet metal production.
Haier’s growth in India aligns with its broader business objectives. The company expects to close 2024 with ₹8,900 crore in revenue, with a target of ₹11,500 crore in 2025. Diversification into commercial air conditioning and kitchen appliances, alongside a focus on India-specific innovations, supports its expanding portfolio.
