LiuGong India, a construction and mining equipment manufacturer, has commenced construction of a new manufacturing facility in Pithampur, with an investment of $2.8 million. The plant, spanning 20 acres, will have an initial production capacity of 6,500 units and will focus on manufacturing excavators for the domestic market.
The facility is located in the industrial hub of Pithampur and is intended to support growing demand for construction machinery in India. The foundation stone laying ceremony was attended by industry representatives, government officials, and LiuGong executives.
Wu Song, Managing Director of LiuGong India, stated that the new facility reflects the company’s commitment to the Indian market and will enhance its manufacturing capabilities in the region.
LiuGong India aims to increase local production, reducing reliance on imports. The plant is also expected to generate employment opportunities in the area.
LiuGong India has been manufacturing construction and mining equipment since 2002, operating a facility in Pithampur with an R&D and training center. The company employs over 500 personnel and has more than 5,000 machines in use across sectors such as road construction, mining, and irrigation.
