Blue Dart, a logistics and transportation company under the DHL Group, has inaugurated a new integrated operating facility in Bijwasan, Delhi. The facility, which spans 2.5 lakh square feet, is designed to handle over 5.5 lakh shipments per day and incorporates a 600-kilowatt solar power installation to reduce carbon emissions.

Situated near the Dwarka Expressway, the facility is 20 minutes from Indira Gandhi International Airport and offers direct access to Indian Railways, metro corridors, and major highways. It integrates with the upcoming Gati Shakti Logistics Corridor and aims to enhance connectivity across Northern India.

According to a press release, the Bijwasan hub supports automated sorting systems to optimize cargo throughput and reduce manual handling. It forms part of the company’s broader expansion efforts, which include a network of over 250 ground routes and eight dedicated freighters covering 19,000 pin codes nationwide.

Blue Dart’s sustainability efforts also include customer options for carbon footprint reduction and initiatives encouraging subcontractors to adopt eco-friendly transport solutions. This facility is a step toward aligning with the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, which seeks to modernize India’s logistics infrastructure.

Tobias Meyer, CEO of DHL Group, stated that the project reflects the company’s commitment to sustainable logistics, while Pablo Ciano, CEO of DHL eCommerce, emphasized its role in enhancing infrastructure to support business growth.

The Bijwasan facility is expected to bolster Blue Dart’s logistics capabilities and provide scalable solutions to meet the growing demand for express and integrated logistics services in India.
