Blue Energy Motors has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra to establish a manufacturing facility for electric trucks in the state. The agreement was finalized at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The company plans to invest approximately ₹3,500 crores in building the facility, which will have the capacity to manufacture 30,000 electric trucks annually. The plant will include advanced research and development capabilities, battery-pack assembly, and motor manufacturing units. It will also establish charging infrastructure to support the produced vehicles.

This investment is expected to create over 4,000 direct jobs and contribute to Maharashtra’s efforts to promote green energy and sustainable industrial development. Operations at the facility are projected to begin in the fiscal year 2025-26.

In a statement, Anirudh Bhuwalka, CEO of Blue Energy Motors, highlighted the company’s goal to expand its presence in the clean energy trucking sector, aligning with broader efforts to reduce carbon emissions and address climate challenges.

The company stated that the facility would adopt advanced manufacturing practices and produce electric trucks incorporating AI and machine learning for improved efficiency and reliability.

The MoU underscores Maharashtra’s focus on attracting investment in the clean energy and electric vehicle sectors as part of its broader economic and environmental strategy.
